This Week in Sleepers

Keeping up with Matt & Greg-

Matt Jones, wr, Jacksonville Jaguars- As a rookie and wide receiver convert in 2005, this young floorflusher showed a knack for the football. He has been compared in jump ball situations to one time fantasy legend, Randy Moss. Once he figures out the layout of the neighborhood, Jones has the potential to be a fantasy football stud. With the departure of Jimmy Smith the Jacsksonville Jaguar #1 receiving job is wide open and Matt Jones is waving his hand at Byron Leftwhich already.

Greg Jones, rb, Jacksonville Jaguars- As a rule, the back up to Fred Taylor gets more carries than Fred Taylor. Jones is a banger who enters the end zone by knocking down the door. He has the potential to carry a big load down in Jacksonville and should be taken on your online fantasy football draft contraption machine in the late rounds.

Lake Erie Shipping News-

Charlie Frye, qb, Cleveland Browns- Frye started four games last year and threw 5 touchdowns. Not bad for a rookie trying to impress the ladies sitting in the front row. The addition of Joe Jurevicious to the Brown offense will definitely benefit Frye because Jurevicious is a vacuum salesman. Add in the potential of Kellen Winslow finally getting on the trolley and Braylon Edwards figuring out how to deal with the hollingans in the defensive backfield and Frye might statistically be onto something in Cleveland. Don’t go crashing this party early though, wait till the late rounds and stash him in your flask pocket.

Jon Kitna, qb, Detroit Lions- In 2004, playing for the Cincinatti Bengals, this prom-trotter served up 26 touchdowns and 3500 only to lose his starting job to young whippersnapper Carson Palmer. Kitna isn’t the most desirable fantasy football quarterback but could prove to be one of the biggest steals in 2006. Consider the fact that goofball Mike “Rip Taylor” Marz is running the show for the Detroit Lions along with the array of receivers at his disposal. There’s no doubt that goofball knows how to operate a bona fide humdinger of a passing game. Now that he doesn’t have to be head coach, look for all of those Jon Kitna fans out there (anyone?) to form a club. Also, St. Louis fans can kick there feet up, they should have all of their timeouts remaining at the end of the 1st quarter.

2006 Fantasy Football Sleepers:

Laurence Maroney, rb, Patriots

Marion Barber III, rb, Cowboys

Drew Brees, qb, Saints

Daunte Culpepper, qb, Dolphins

Matt Jones, wr, Jaguars

Greg Jones, rb, Jaguars

Charlie Frye, qb, Browns

Jon Kitna, qb, Lions
