Aces in the Hole - Sleeper QB's

Asita's Aces in the Hole

This is the first installment of a series of articles I will be writing highlighting the top fantasy football sleeper picks at each position.

Ace of Spades - Vince Young JaMarcus Russell. Last year most people made the mistake of underestimating Vince Young. While few will doubt Young again after his performance at the end of last season, many seem poised to write off JaMarcus Russell despite his proven college track record and amazing arm strength. Its true that Russell doesn't exactly have top notch receivers to throw to in Oakland, but the same claim could have been made for last year's Titan's team. Look for Russell to make an immediate fantasy impact.

Ace of Clubs - Michael Vick. Nobody's stock has fallen faster than Michael Vick's. A week from now Vick will be in a federal court room being arraigned on felony dog fighting charges which could net him up to six years in prison. So why would anyone want to draft such a risky commodity? Fortune favors the bold. Last year Vick finally showed signs that he was developing touch on his passes, couple that with the addition of veteran wide receiver Joe Horn, and Vick's tremendous ability to make things happen and you have the potential for a career year....IF Vick ever makes it onto the field.

Ace of Diamonds - Jake Delhomme. After passing for nearly 4,000 yards and 29touchdowns while leading his team to the Superbowl in 2004 Delhomme's numbers have progressively slipped in each of the last two seasons. Much of this can be attributed to injuries, either to Steve Smith or himself. If the two of the manage to remain healthy this season there is no reason why Delhomme can't return to 2004-form. The Panther's addition of USC stud Dwayne Jarrett should help open things up both for Steve Smith and Delhomme.

Ace of Hearts – Jon Kitna. While I don't believe Jon Kitna when he says the lions are going to win 10 Games, I do believe that his fantasy numbers are bound to improve this season. Last season Kitna threw for an impressive 4,208 yards, and an equally impressive depressing 22 interceptions. While the addition of the amazing Calvin Johnson won't be able to prevent Kitna from throwing the ball directly into the hands of opposing D-backs, it stands to reason that Kitna's interception numbers WILL decrease. Much of the Lion's offensive woes last year can be blamed on injuries and dropped passes. While there's no guarantee that they won't be struck by injuries again, its almost a certainty that Calvin Johnson will catch the ball, which should increase Kitna's touchdown numbers dramatically.

Honorable Mentions: Matt Schaub, Alex Smith, Tarvaris Jackson, and Brady Quinn
