Aces in the Hole - Sleeper RB's

Asita's Aces in the Hole

The second installment of my Aces in the Hole series on fantasy football sleeper picks. This installment will cover running backs. Sorry for the delay in getting this article out, look for the next installment covering Wide Receivers to follow in the next couple of days.

Ace of Spades – Sean Alexander,Seattle Seahawks. It is pretty easy to forget about players who are coming back from injury problems. What shouldn't be forgotten is that before he was hit with the Madden Curse, this guy was an elite running back. Look for Alexander to return to form and be a top 5 back.

Ace of Clubs – Laurence Maroney, New England Patriots. Maroney was a college phenom at the University of Minnesota. Last year in his rookie season he showed that he could translate his college performance into success at the professional level. Now that Corey Dillon is out of the way in New England, look for Maroney to get most of the carries and put up monster numbers.

Ace of Diamonds – Thomas Jones, New York Jets. Jones put up solid numbers last year in Chicago's impotent offense while splitting time with Cedric Benson. Jones should be the feature back in New York so look for his numbers to improve somewhat. Jones will be a solid #2 fantasy back, but not much better than that.

Ace of Hearts – Jerious Norwood, Atlanta Falcons. Norwood's stock instantly rose earlier this year when Warrick Dunn underwent surgery for a herniated disk in late July. Norwood showed flashes of brilliance, including rattling off a 78 yard touchdown run in week 4. Norwood also had best yards-per-carry average, with an eye opening 6.4 yards per carry.

Honorable Mentions: Maurice Jones-Drew, Reggie Bush, Cedric Benson, Marion Barber III.
